A Fair Result?!

The match of the season, part 1 (at Arsenal) ended in a stalemate. Arsenal snatched a vital point from the jaws of defeat and we dropped 2 valuable points and the chance to plant our feet firmly on the top of the table. So we are still sitting pretty in 2nd place behind the Gunners.

The question that comes to mind then is this: was this a fair result? Neutrals would probably think so, since they got to see 4 goals and the title race remains open. Arsenal fans would likely claim that Arsenal was the better team. Me, I think it is a fair result, considering that we played our best, although maybe we got carried away with that slimmest of leads (2-1) and ended up being more defensive than was appropriate. After all, the best defence is a good offence.

Still, it is good to see that Saha is still as good as ever, despite his injury-prone body. Both Arsenal and Man U are still unbeaten, and I still think that we are the only 2 teams mounting a serious challenge for the championship. A resurgent Chelsea, the always unpredictable Liverpool are contenders too, but unlike us, they will likely as not fall by the wayside.

Call me proud, arrogant, conceited even, but we won the title last year, and this year, I really think it is our title to lose, and at the moment, only Arsenal are capable of wresting it away from us. Even without van Persie, their momentum is seemingly unstoppable (Liverpool and us being the exceptions)

As for us, the Red Devils, we are on fire too, and I hope that as more and more of the walking wounded (Neville, Saha, Park Ji Sung, the list goes on) come back from the dead, we will really gel as a team. When we do, the match of the season at Old Trafford against Arsenal will probably determine this season's champs(hope that we will get to lift the trophy again!!!)

We can only give our best, and pray for success. Football is so, and so is Life.
