The bricklayer
deftly he lays
brick after brick
in no time at all
his creation is complete
Standing back in satisfaction
He looks up and smiles
impressed with his wall of crimson
The stonemason
slowly he builds
slab after slab
painstakingly
he manages to complete
Half-dead from exhaustion
He gazes at his bridge
white symbol of his inspiration
Walls and bridges
Both crafted by artisans
Yet with conflicting purposes
One to connect
One to obstruct
One to protect
One for attack
Yet like the edges of a sword
Double-edged, cuts both ways
Like the sides of a coin
Heads or tails
Both part of the same body
